Staff Qualifications and Professional Development (STF) requirements focus on the training and credentials needed to build a well-trained child care workforce. Maryland EXCELS recognizes the registration and licensing regulations for Family Child Care Homes, Child Care Centers, including centers that serve only School-Age children. Any program that meets State registration and licensing regulations also meets the Maryland EXCELS requirements for Staff Qualifications and Professional Development: Education/Experience: STF 1.1.

Licensing and registration information is connected directly to the Maryland EXCELS online system. No additional documentation or evidence is required.
