Check your Family Communication Policy as you prepare to upload it to the Maryland EXCELS System.
Step 1: Check your document
Your documentation should include:
- A Communication Policy that supports open and confidential communication related to:
- Children’s progress
- Areas of concern
- Program planning
- Opportunities for family conferences
- Statement of conference request procedures
Step 2: Save your document
Use a file name you can find easily when you upload it to the system (example: family-communication.docx).
Use any one of these formats:
- Typed electronic version of your program’s family communication policy and conference statement (examples: Microsoft Word, PDF)
- Scanned versions of your program’s family communication policy and conference statement (examples: PDF, PNG, JPG)
- Digital image of your program’s family communication policy and conference statement (examples: JPG, PNG, PDF)
Step 3: Upload your document (ADM 6.4)
Log into the Maryland EXCELS System to upload your statement that describes your program’s approach to family communication.
