ADM 8: Performance Expectations

Overview

Performance expectations play an important role in providing the foundation for communication about performance throughout the year. Clear expectations about performance provide the foundation for teachers and staff to be evaluated. This includes thoroughly explaining the evaluation process, what will be evaluated, and the next steps after the evaluation.

Requirement

Level 5:

The LEA provides a copy of the teacher performance expectations to all instructional staff members. Teachers are provided with opportunities to request feedback on teaching from both supervisors and colleagues.

Documentation to upload:

  • Teacher evaluation form
  • Statement describing how teachers can request feedback from supervisors and colleagues regarding their teaching

Note: The evaluation form should be blank or have the teacher’s name redacted to protect their privacy.

Build a Statement

Develop a statement describing how teachers can request feedback from supervisors and colleagues. The Reflection Questions below will help you consider your program’s practices as you prepare to create your statement. Upon reflection, you are ready to build your statement.

Reflection Questions

  1. How does the LEA communicate teacher performance expectations and share teacher evaluation forms?
  2. Besides formal performance evaluations, how can teachers request feedback from supervisors and colleagues regarding their teaching practices?

After reflecting on the questions, you have the option to download and save the Performance Expectations Template and create your statement.
